British team looking to break land-speed record launch new series ‘Anatomy of the Car’ explaining every part of the supersonic car.

Watching a dissection of a bloodhound might sound like one of the more macabre finds on YouTube, but when the beast in question is the fastest car on Earth you can pull your hands from over your eyes and watch on.

In their new 30-video series calledAnatomy of the Car, the Bristol-based team looking to break theland speed record breakdown the wholeBloodhound SSCto show you exactly what each part of the car does, and how it is going to help smash the 1000mph barrier.

In the first three videos you’ll find some pretty astonishing facts, such as the pressure exerted on the nose is the same as two African Bull elephants, or that a part of the front upright is called the ‘goat’s head’ – it’s a menagerie this car!

At 13.4m long and weighing in at 7.5 tonnes, the car is a cross between a racing car and a jet engine, and when in full flight will produce a massive135,000 horsepower.That's enough to cover a mile in of the Hakskeen Pan of South Africa, where the record attempt will take place, in just 3.6 seconds.
