Is a mysterious pink UFO watching the International Space Station?

It’s a busy week for conspiracy theorists - first we had a woman seemingly photographed on Mars joining the 'Mars crab' and now it looks as if aliens in a fetching pink UFO are watching the ISS.

According to YouTube user Streetcap1, during NASA’s 3 August live stream from the ISS a “pink and gold object” can be seen floating in space just about the station. The stream then apparently cuts short asking users to “please stand by”. It’s not exactly clear if it’s a UFO spotted, but Streetcap1 is convinced and calls for NASA to “start pointing the ISS cameras outward and stop treating people like children”.

So is the International Space Station being watched by extra-terrestrial life? Putting our cynical hats on here we’re going to say probably not. This sort of thing happens all the time with low-resolution video, and the video frequently cuts when they are changing to a different camera. The atmosphere itself can also throw up a few, more scientific, reasons than unidentified flying objects.

“UFO spotters love to see any object or flick of light out there as proof that extraterrestrial craft are monitoring our planet,” Nigel Watson, author of the UFO Investigations Manual, told the MailOnline.

“Though if they are piloted by aliens using advanced technology wouldn't they have perfected the means to hide themselves completely from our cameras?”

Maybe the crew of the ISS should spend less time eating space-grown salad and more time looking out the window – the truth is out there, folks.
