IP addresses, the series of numbers that identify anything connected to the internet, are indeed running out. Some experts have warned that we could use them all up within the next year or so.

IPv6 is now being ushered in. It’s an updated protocol that specifies longer IP addresses, opening up trillions of trillions of new locations. With IPv6, we’ll never run out of addresses.
