Nissan shows off self-parking chairs

Nissan’s Intelligent Parking Chair aims to bring the zen of autonomous driving to the office.

Hands up if you’ve ever left your chair out after a boring meeting as you race to the kitchen for a reviving coffee. Yeah, ok, we can see a lot of hands up here. Clearly Nissan, the car manufacturer you would normally associate with cars ranging from the humble Micra or the lustrous Nissan Z, havewaaaytoo many meetings that they can’t wait to duck out of - their latest invention is the Intelligent Parking Chair.

Yes, inspired by theIntelligent Parking Assisttechnology used in their self-parking cars, the Japanese car giants have turned that technology to the office space. This probably isn’t the first application ofautonomous cartechnology outside of vehicles we’d have thought of, but given the amount of time we spend in meetings we’re fans.
