The new state-of-the-art Planetarium boasts two 4K resolution projectors and 7.1 surround sound, creating an impressively immersive experience.

During a media preview, we were treated to a view of Bristol's night sky, followed by a fly-by of Saturn and a trip into the planet's rings. The result was spectacular, with the rings' icy particles appearing to float all around us. It's the closest you're going to get to being in space without booking a ticket to the International Space Station.

Visitors to the Planetarium can currently choose between two shows - 'Summer Stargazing' (in a choice of 2D or 3D) and 'Space Explorers' (a 2D show especially for the under 6s).
