Are the pink elephants really on parade?

Many animals love a tipple. Two examples are parrots and elephants. Some Australian parrots have discovered that sugar spilled from cane trucks and wet by dew overnight can rapidly ferment in the Sun, providing free booze. A herd of elephants in West Bengal once discovered an illegal distillery, drank 150 litres of alcohol and then smashed down a village.
