Cameras

The camera, an optical instrument for capturing and recording images, has evolved a lot since the first partially successful photograph taken in 1816 by Nicéphore Niépce. Over 200 years ago paper doused in silver chloride in a dark room was required for an image to be captured, these days cameras are in almost everyone’s pockets with an estimated 1.2 trillion photos taken in 2017. Without this remote sensing device, which operates much like the human eye, there’d be no films and magazines and social media would be much more boring!
