The Android operating system was unveiled by Google in 2007 and since then has become the most installed operating system of any kind, dominating the smartphone and tablet markets. Its popularity is largely due to the openness and the accessibility of the operating system and source code, and its ability to be installed on a large and varied range of devices. With Google's ambitions we wouldn't be surprised to one day see an Android android.
