Is it bad for you to skip breakfast?

Health and mood benefits aside, why would you even do such a thing!

Asked by: Tom Livesey, Surrey

There’s quite a lot of research (sponsored by breakfast cereal companies) to show that your mental performance in the morning is worse if you skip breakfast. Evidence of actual harm to your health is much harder to find. Provided your total daily intake is adequate and nutritionally balanced, and you’re not faint with hunger, you’ll probably be fine.
