Watch a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket land in full 360-degree video
Now you can experience what it feels like to have a reusable rocket land on top of you from the confines of your VR headset.
Last month SpaceX released an incredible video when they successfully landed their Falcon 9 reusable rocket on a platform at sea. But if that video wasn’t impressive enough, the team behind Elon Musk’s effort to bring down the cost of space travel have released a full 360-degree video of the landing. So strap on a VR headset and check out the video below.
The successful landing of SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket marks another step in the march towards cheaper space exploration:
“If one can figure out how to effectively reuse rockets just like airplanes, the cost of access to space will be reduced by as much as a factor of a hundred," says Musk on the SpaceX website. "A fully reusable vehicle has never been done before. That really is the fundamental breakthrough needed to revolutionize access to space.”
We’re just delighted that we got the video at all given how previous attempts to land the rocket on a drone ship at sea weren't quite so successful.
